- Jean Bédard
Managing Director
- Prior to CSL, Jean was the Investment Director at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ for the IT and Telecommunication sector. Before the Fonds, Jean was a consultant in financing and acquisitions for technology companies. He was also Vice President-Telecommunications for Desjardins Venture Capital, a subsidiary of the Mouvement des Caisses Desjardins for more than seven years. Jean was actively involved in several investments, including Miranda Technologies and Skywave Mobile Communications. Prior to Desjardins, he worked to create the knowledge base financing group for the National Bank of Canada. Jean started his career with Shell Canada in management and technical roles.
- Stéphane Caron
CFO & Partner
- Stéphane brings a combination of financial expertise and business development skills. Stéphane evaluates market growth, technologies or products, and barriers to entry in order to better position and refine the go to market strategy of our portfolio companies.
Prior to joining CSL in October 2010, he was Investments Manager, IT at Solidarity Fund QFL, responsible for a growing portfolio of start-up and mid-stage technology companies. From 2000 to 2007, he was CFO for two different software organizations where he helped raise over $25M in venture capital investment. Stéphane began his career in 1990 at Desjardins Venture Capital. He is responsible for 5 companies within CSL’s portfolio. He serves on the board of 3 technology companies and was actively involved in the creation of the Quebec Angel Investors organization. He currently presides over the advisory committee of Capital Innovation. Stéphane participates in numerous events and special committees advising technology start-ups.
